Nottawa Township Library Board Minutes

April 12, 2022**

Cara Arver called the meeting to order at 5:03 pm.

Kathleen Brandon, Carmita Hunter, Michelle Brokaw, Cara Arver, Mike Friesner and Carrie Brueck were present. Bob Klar and Amber Troyer were absent.

Michelle motioned to approve the agenda, second by Kathleen, approved. Kathleen motioned to approve the minutes of the previous meeting, second by Carmita, approved.

The board discussed the financial reports. Michelle motioned to accept the financial reports as presented, second by Kathleen, accepted.   

The library is still on the schedule for improvements with Shetler with construction beginning after Summer Reading has completed. 

The board reviewed the FOIA policies submitted by Anne Seurynck from Foster Swift.  A suggestion was made to add a website tab for policies. Policies will be added as the library board updates them.  A roll call vote was taken to approve the resolution attached to the minutes. The FOIA Public Summary, Procedures and Guidelines, Long Form, Short Form, and Resolution were approved.

Free home Covid tests are being provided by MDHHS. The library will continue to hand out the free test kits as long as they are provided.

The Director’s report was presented. Upcoming programs include a dot stencil craft, holiday open house, cocoa bomb class. Use of the library continues to increase although patrons are not staying in the library very long.

The auditor reports were handed out to those in attendance for discussion at the next meeting.

There were no committee reports.

There were no public comments.

The next meeting is scheduled for May 23.  A Doodle Poll will be taken to assure a quorum prior to the meeting date.
